WATCH: Warriors’ star allegedly arrested on the Gold Coast

New Zealand Warriors’ young gun Reece Walsh has allegedly been arrested on the Gold Coast overnight.

It’s understood investigations are still ongoing at this time into the nature of the incident.

According to a Fox Sports report however, Walsh was given a move on order from a Gold Coast venue shortly after midnight, before being sighted in the same area roughly 45 minutes later.

It was then that Queensland police reportedly arrested the 19-year-old. He was taken to the Surfers Paraside Police Station according to the reports.

Video taken by a TikTok user seems to show footage of Walsh being arrested.

According to New Hub New Zealand’s Andrew Gourdie, the Warriors have now confirmed Walsh was arrested, although the charge remains unclear.

The club are yet to provide an official statement regarding the news however and it’s understood they are currently investigating the incident.

Walsh was a mid-season signing from the Brisbane Broncos, having originally signed with the Warriors from the start of the 2022 season.

The youngster is touted as one of the game’s brightest stars and was due to make his State of Origin debut before injury struck.

Already named the Warriors’ rookie of the year, Walsh was earlier this week named the RLPA’s rookie of the year, pipping Sam Walker for the award.
